The Foreign Ministry announced the successful repatriation of 268 Pakistani citizens of Iraq through two special flights operated by Iraqi Airways.
The flights, originally from Basra, arrived safely in Karachi and Islamabad earlier in the day, confirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday in a statement published in X.
The authorities said they remain in active coordination with the Iraqi respiratory tract and relevant Iraqi officials to facilitate the appropriate and safe return of all the remaining Pakistani pilgrims, or Zaireen, still in Iraq.
“It is recommended to all the Pakistani Zaireen currently in Iraq who remain in close contact with the Pakistan embassy in Baghdad, Mandoobs designated and their respective airlines for timely updates with respect to their travel arrangements,” the statement said.
The Ministry added that Iraqi Airways is currently operating daily flights on the Basra -Dubai route, which some Pakistani citizens have already used as an alternative travel option. Those who seek to use this route to communicate with the closest office of Iraqi Airways for reserve and assistance are encouraged.
“It is even more recommended to all who remain prepared to travel in the short term,” said the ministry, adding that the evolutionary situation continues to closely monitors.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to guarantee the safe and orderly repatriation of all citizens stranded in Iraq amid high regional tensions.
A day earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, ISHAQ Dar, confirmed that 450 Pakistani pilgrims have been successfully evacuated from Iran, stating that the Government is taking all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of Pakistani citizens in the region.
He said that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani pilgrims from Iran was completed on Saturday. He added that arrangements are also being made for the safe evacuation of the first lot of 154 Pakistani students stranded in Iran.
Israel’s assault to Iran
The recent conflict between Iran and Israel has become the most intense direct confrontation in its history, since both countries exchange large -scale attacks.
Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” with a surprise attack on June 13, attacked Iranian military leadership, nuclear facilities and ballistic missile production sites.
The operation resulted in the death of dozens, including the main Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists. Israeli officials said the campaign would intensify in the next few days.
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, promised to continue attacking “all the objectives of the regime”, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that more attacks would trigger “a more severe and powerful response.”

In retaliation, Iran launched waves of drones and missiles in Israeli objectives during the weekend, hitting both military bases and civil infrastructure.
At least 14 people were reported killed in Israel, and dozens were more injured. A flood of Iranian missiles killed three people and wounded 76.
Iranian authorities say that more than 224 civilians, including 70 women and children, have been Kllled in Israeli assault, according to Al Jazeera.
The bombings have attacked the Niavaran district of northern Tehran, as well as Saadat Abad, Valiasr and Hafte Tir.
Among those killed in the Israeli strikes were the Chief of Intelligence of the Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran (IRGC) and two senior generals along with the eight nuclear scientists of Iran.
