FO issues clarifications about the presence of Shama Junejo in Unga

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a statement that clarifies the role of Dr. Shama Junejo after a violent reaction about its presence in the delegation of the United Nations General Assembly of Pakistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) clarified that “the individual in question did not appear in the Official Charter of Credit for the Pakistan delegation to the 80th session of the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations (UNGA), signed by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. As such, his feeling behind the Minister of Defense did not have the approval of the Vegemit Prime Minister/ External Minister.”

Shama Junjo has been accused by individuals of being a supporter of Zionism and Israel, based on his previous positions in X, where he expressed his respect for Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu.

Former federal ministers Shireen Mazari and Fawad Chaudhry called the Pakistan government and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, whom he was sitting, for allowing a supporter of Israel to be part of the Pakistan delegation.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who has been a vocal defender of the Palestinian cause, called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an X publication, demanding answers to how this person was allowed to be there: “Who is this woman? Why is he with us in the delegation?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded with a statement, making it clear that Shama Junejo was not an official part of the Pakistani delegation and that their seats did not have the approval of the Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. It is not yet clear who allowed the disposition of the seats.
