- Focal mg Baths are high -end ANC headphones
- New magnesium controllers and better microphones to improve ANC
- With a price of $ 1,299 / £ 999 / au $ 2,300
How do you make the best headphones even better on the ear on the ear? If you are a focal, you give them a metal update. The new focal MG Bathys are the monitoring of the focal bats, and have new magnesium membrane controllers that Focal says that it offers significant audio improvement, and can obtain a pair in the head since April 2025.
This is not the first time that Focal has used magnesium in its headphones. Focal Clear Mg also does, and we describe his audio as “amazing.” They were also quite expensive, and the new Mg Bathys are too.
Bathys Focal MG: key features and prices
In addition to the new magnesium membrane, the Bathys MG also has new digital microphones to improve ANC performance. That is good, because one of the few criticisms we had in our review of Bathys Focal was that his ANC was not a class leader despite the premium price.
Other changes in the MG model are more subtle: there is a new foam in the headphones and in the headband for better comfort.
Like the existing version, you can use Mg Bathys in three modes, DAC USB-C, wiring and wireless. In those modes you can wait up to 42 hours, 35 hours and 30 hours of listening time, respectively. As before, the USB-DAC mode gives you an audio of up to 24 bits/192khz.
There is no doubt that these headphones are going to sound amazing, but they come with a significantly higher price. When the normal bats were launched at $ 799 / £ 699 / AU $ 1,199 (but now they are regularly available for less), the MG Bathys have a retail price of $ 1,299 / £ 999 / AU $ 2,300.
They are launched during April, but Focal did not provide a specific date.
