A fire broke out in a forest in Khanaspur on Saturday, reportedly due to prolonged dry conditions exacerbated by the ongoing drought. The fire spread quickly, engulfing nearby residential areas and causing damage to homes near the forest.

The lack of rain in months has increased the risk of forest fires, and dry vegetation provides enough fuel for the flames. Residents reported that the fire spread quickly, likely aided by the prevailing dry weather.

Upon receiving the alert, Rescue 1122 immediately dispatched fire vehicles and firefighters to the scene. According to District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khattak, all available resources are being used to control the fire.

Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the flames and continued their rigorous efforts despite the difficult conditions. The operation is being closely monitored by District Emergency Officer Khattak, ensuring a coordinated response.
