Although the PC for Ayaneo Handheld Games was launched in 2024, providing a double -screen portable game experience, has made another jump with a new device, and this time, I think it may be enough to call it a very improved spiritual successor for the Nintendo DS (or 2DS).
As reported by Videcardz, Ayaneo has announced the PC of Handheld Flip 1s DS games, using the powerful Ryzen AI 9 Hx 370 processor of AMD and, perhaps the most important thing, a 7 -inch main exhibition of 1920×1080 144Hz OLED with up to 800 nit nits peak brightness. It will also have a secondary LCD screen (hence the name ‘DS’) with a resolution 1620×1080.
While it may seem similar to its predecessor, Flip DS, the updates are significant, to say the least. The change to Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 of the Ryzen 7 8840U processor will be of great benefit to the game’s performance, with the first using 12 cores and 24 threads, but that is not the only prominent point.
This set will not only fulfill the desire for an experience of Nintendo DS (which, if it was not yet clear, DS represents the dual screen), but also intends to provide an OLED visual experience; Something that the most modern game PCs do not have in addition to some.
With deeper black levels and a fantastic contrast, it is more than enough to provide the ideal visual quality on a 7 -inch 1080p screen. The addition of the maximum brightness of 800 nits is only the icing on the cake for me; Add the endless amount of playable games through Steam, epic games and other popular pitchers, and it is an easy, well, more or less choice.
I say this because I hope this costs a fortune, based on the usual hand prices of Ayane. It is not yet known about prices, but if the tastes of the Asus Rog Aly X or the MSI Claw 8 AI+ (which use weaker processors compared to HX 370) exceed $ 700, then that should be enough to tell him that the Flip 1s DS will put most of the players.
Analysis: A great commitment to a 7 -inch screen
While Flip 1s DS does not specifically scratch my itching to want an 8 -inch 8 -inch affordable hand computer, it is certainly a great commitment; One for which I am tempted to save money, but only if your price label is not absolutely obscene.
I wanted an update of the 7 -inch screen of Asus Rog Ally for a long time, but that does not mean that the screen size is bad. Do not be misunderstood, a 7 -inch for hand screen is excellent and it is the optimal point for most users, but you can feel a bit mediocre, especially if you are playing competitively.
However, Flip 1s DS provides two screens, one of them is a 1080p OLED, and if you have read my review Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, you will know that I am a fan of the OLED screens. The performance in the games is not a concern, taking into account how well we have seen the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip work in others by hand such as the Onexplayer X1 Pro – Spoiler alert, manages demanding games as Black myth: Wukong Quite well.
If Ayaneo can maintain a price between $ 800 and $ 999, then I can see me holding and saving for this, but if the price is higher, I would probably be looking for another place.
