- Huge spectacle of 3,000 drones has set a new world record
- The first episode of T2 arrives on the streaming platform on Friday
Apple TV certainly hasn’t hesitated to promote season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (premiering this Friday, February 27), featuring an unprecedented drone light show in the skies over Los Angeles.
The 12-minute spectacle involved 3,000 drones, which flew up to 500 feet (152 meters) in area and covered an area equivalent to three football fields, according to details published by Apple TV.
These drones and their onboard lights, along with occasional fireworks, were used to represent the show’s giant monsters: Godzilla, King Kong, and Titan X. Titan X will be the main antagonist of the show’s second season.
It was enough to claim a world record, albeit a somewhat specific one. The drone show is officially the tallest aerial display of a fictional character made up of drones ever held, surpassing Marvel’s Wolverine display starting in 2024.
