Former education CEO delivered to the police

The service judge Waqar Ahmad Sidhu granted on Saturday a two -day physical return of the former executive director of the Rawalpindi district education authority, Amanullah Cheena, and Secretary Arshad Mehmood in a corruption case involving RS36.58 million. Both were presented at the Court after their arrest by the Anti -Corruption Establishment (ACE). The Court rejected the request of the ACE investigation team of a seven -day return and ordered that the suspects be submitted again on June 25 after completing the initial interrogation. According to the FIR, the defendant caused financial loss to the National Treasury through alleged corruption in the acquisition of furniture, stationery and IT equipment. Orders were issued to two companies: Malik m/s merchants and M/S Kamran companies, who were paid in their entirety, but underestimated the hired goods. The details in the signed claimed that RS2.5 million were paid for stationery, RS2.88 million per furniture and RS2.68 million were paid for IT teams. The anti -corruption prosecutor claimed furniture worth RS1,74 million and no furniture was delivered worth RS1,91 million. Defensor lawyers opposed preventive detention, stating that supplies were being delivered in phases and no corruption had occurred. They described the case, politically motivated, claiming that Amanullah Cheena, a 19 -grade officer, was arrested even before the FIR was recorded, 18 hours after his arrest. They argued that, instead of physical prison, the defendant must be sent to the prison in judicial prison, affirming his full cooperation with the investigation. Meanwhile, the investigation has expanded to include eight other education officials and two presidents of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), who have been issued a summons with a warning of arrest in case of non -compliance. The summoned include the Deputy Office of Education Muhammad Nabeel Naqvi, Dr. Gul Ahmed and Habibullah; Headmasters senior Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Sajad; Muhammad Irfan Administrative Officer; Administrator of the Education Complex of the Government of Hudaibiya; Legal Officer Kamran Saeed; and the presidents of Apca Raja Aftab and Irshad Ahmed. According to reports, the issuance of a large amount of citation has caused disturbances within the Department of Education, which led many officials to seek political support. According to the ACE team, all summoned officials have refused to testify against Amanullah Cheena or become approval.
