“My boy,” he wrote in a publication about his Instagram stories on Monday.

Pryor went to 2,772 yards and 27 touchdowns in his last season with the Buckeyes in 2010. He also proved to be the last season of Tressel with the Buckeyes.

Tressel and Pryor were trapped in an inappropriate benefits scandal. The NCAA, after an investigation with the FBI and the Department of Justice, determined that Tressel, Pryor and other buckey players violated the organization’s policies on inadmissible benefits. The players were accused of receiving tattoos or effective for autographs.

Tressel was accused of retaining information in the investigation and renouncing before the start of the 2011 season. Pryor left school before his last year.

Pryor went on to play open receiver in the NFL and organized a solid race. Tressel never trained in university ranks again. Instead, he served as president of the Youngstown State University from 2014 to 2023.

The governor of Ohio, Mike Dewine, nominated Tressel for Lieutenant Governor after Jon Husted replaced Vice President JD Vance in the United States Senate.

“Jim Tressel are Ohio’s values. He is a great worker and shares that vision (I have) for the future of Ohio,” the Republican governor at a press conference said on Monday. “He has the ability to unite people. He has the ability to lead. It will allow me to be sure that if something happens to me, it can enter and be governor that day and that would be perfect.”

Tressel expressed his admiration for Dewine.

“I want to study a little about what Jon Husted has done, so I want to learn the business, so to speak,” he said. “And then it is up to when you feel with the team and staff and everyone else who tries to discover who plays better what position. And I would be more than happy to help where I can.”
