Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was hospitalized on Saturday after suffering a heart attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a private medical center in the federal capital.
According to Express News, Abbasi was taken to Al-Shifa Hospital after complaining of severe chest pain at his Islamabad residence. Doctors later confirmed that the former prime minister had suffered a cardiac episode.
Medical tests revealed blockages in two of his coronary arteries, hospital sources said. Cardiologists then inserted two stents to restore adequate blood flow.
