Peshawar: Shakeel Ahmad Khan, the older brother of former Jamaat-E-Isami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer and former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, was shot dead outside his home in Swabi, police said Sunday.
Expressing pain for the tragic incident, Mushtaq said his older brother had been shot dead in front of his house and described him as his strength and support. He further condemned the attack, calling him the worst act of barbarism.
By providing details of the incident, the district police officer (DPO) Swabi Muhammad Azhar said Shakeel had been killed while trying to mediate a violent dispute.
According to police staff, Shakeel was shot dead for a neighbor during a violent altercation. He said the incident took place when a dispute broke out between a father and a son in the neighborhood.
“Shakeel Khan was going to mediate and resolve the conflict when the suspect, identified as Kamran, opened fire. Before this, Kamran had supposedly killed his own father, ”added the DPO.
The shot also left an injured person. The police officer also said that Kamran is a drug addict and has an unstable mental condition.
Dpo Azhar said that the suspect’s arrest would soon be secured and justice would be served.
The murder of Shakeel Khan has caused a generalized conviction of political leaders and government officials.

KP’s Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also condemned the incident. Expressing his condolences to Senator Mushtaq, the provincial executive director picked up for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the family family.
Gandapur described the murder of Shakeel Khan as tragic and promised that the author would be taken before justice. He assured that the culprit would be given strict punishment in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, the governor of KP, Faisal Karim Kundi, convened a detailed report on the murder and ordered the authorities to guarantee rapid justice. He made sure that the government stopped with Mushtaq Ahmad during this difficult time.
Shakeel’s funeral prayer is scheduled for 3pm today in Ahad Khan, Swabi district, according to Mushtaq.
