The former UFC star and Olympic fighter Ben Askren remains in the hospital due to a disease that has left doctors considering a lung transplant, according to his wife.

Askren’s wife, Amy, said on a Facebook post on Tuesday that her husband has been in “Limbo” with “good” and “bad” days, which caused another update.

“I have not shared an update because Ben has been in Limbo for a while and expected him to wake up and who decides what to share …”, he wrote on Facebook.

“Ben is still in a fan and an ecm to support him while heals. There are good and bad days, but in good, they have been able to weave their sedation enough to open the eyes and press your hands. Your body cannot handle the sedation too much. I am still praying for a miracle with their current lungs, but they are currently starting the evaluation process for a lung transplant.

“I know that transplants are a blessing and I am overwhelmed by the idea that I receive a gift like that. No one would take better care of that gift than Ben.”

She revealed earlier this month that her husband “developed a severe pneumonia that appeared very suddenly.”
