- IBO done in presence of Fitna al Hindustan: ISPR
- They say terrorists killed after intense exchange of fire.
- Weapons and ammunition recovered from murdered terrorists.
RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed four terrorists during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Kalat district of Balochistan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
The Army’s media wing, in a statement, said the IBO was carried out on January 12 due to the alleged presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, “Fitna al Hindustan”.
During the operation, its own forces effectively attacked the terrorists’ location and after an intense exchange of fire, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were gunned down, the statement said.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were still actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
“Remediation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area,” the ISPR added.
The relentless anti-terror campaign under the ‘Azm e Istehkam’ vision by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the army’s media wing has promised.
Pakistan has seen an increase in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in 2021. The provinces of KP and Balochistan, bordering Afghanistan, have been particularly affected by these attacks.
ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in his press conference on January 6, said that law enforcement agencies carried out 75,175 IBOs across the country in 2025.
Giving a breakdown, he said 14,658 IBOs were carried out in KP, 58,778 in Balochistan, while 1,739 operations were carried out in the rest of the country.
Lt Gen Chaudhry said that during the last one year, 5,397 terrorist incidents were reported across the country. Of these, 3,811 incidents, he said, occurred in KP, 1,557 in Balochistan and 29 incidents were reported from other parts of the country.
He said 2,597 terrorists were killed during counter-terrorism operations last year. While he provided details of 10 major terrorist attacks across the country, he said civilians and soft targets had been deliberately attacked, and that Afghan militants were involved in all the attacks.
