On Wednesday, four people died and another four were injured in a bomb explosion on the road in the Pewar Sharamkhel area, Parachinar, in the Upper Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), police said.
The district police officer (DPO) Malik Habib confirmed the victims and said that a police team had launched an investigation into the explosion site.
The deceased was identified by officials of the Hospital of the headquarters of the Parachinar District (DHQ) as Nawab Ali, Amir Hussain, Hidayat Hussain and Manzar Ali.
Medical Superintendent Mir Hassan Jan said the injured – Muhammad Konain, Shafaat Hussain and Hassan Ghulam – received first aid at DHQ Parachinar and then transferred Peshawar for specialized treatment.

The tribal elders strongly condemned the incident, asking for immediate arrests and a high -level investigation. “Such acts are destined to sabotage peace efforts in the region,” said an old man.
Violence in the tribal belt has increased in recent months. In December, more than 100 people were killed during tribal confrontations in Kurram.
The region was cut for weeks after the attacks against the convoys.
