Badosa won the game 6-7 (1), 6-1, 6-4 over Osaka. The Japanese superstar was upset after the defeat.

Osaka also dealt with blisters in his hands while cutting his nails. She theorized that it was the clay courts that were giving her the problem.
“From Rome, I have had blisters in my hands,” he said, through Tennis.com. “I think it’s like Clay’s friction, because I don’t have blisters on any other surface. But I was accustomed, because I also had to ask for the physio in Rome.”

“I don’t necessarily know my grass season schedule at this time,” said Osaka. “I really didn’t expect to lose in the first round.”
