Frankie Muniz talks about competing again in 2026

Frankie Muniz isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

The longtime actor, now 40, is gearing up for a packed 2026 as he continues to pursue his racing dreams in full force.

Muñiz will return for his second full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Team Reaume, driving a Ford F-150.

On top of that, he is expanding into sports car racing as a driver for TechSport Racing, where he will take the wheel of a Ford Mustang GT4 in the GT4 America season.

He will be partnered with co-pilot Tyler Stone.

Racing has been a part of Muñiz’s life for two decades, beginning his journey in 2004 before turning professional in 2006.

He joined Reaume as a full-time NASCAR driver in 2025 with the No. 33 truck and is now doubling down on the challenge.

talking to PEOPLEHe admitted that next year will be full, 25 NASCAR races, seven GT4 America races and even the debut of the four-episode revival. Malcolm in the Middle: Life is still unfair.

He called the schedule “pretty intense,” but the excitement clearly outweighs the exhaustion.

He revealed that he thought he might have crossed the finish line for good last season.

“If I’m 100% honest, I really thought last year was going to be my last year of racing,” Muniz said.

He explained how his final race at Phoenix made him wonder if this was the end of his NASCAR journey, until the moment pushed him to realize otherwise.

“And it was really at that moment that I thought, ‘No way. I’m not done with this. The story isn’t over. I haven’t achieved the goals that I want to achieve in it,'” he shared.

“There are still many unfinished business.”

Muñiz also reflected on how rare and special this opportunity is for him at 40 years old.

Racing at the highest level is demanding and he knows that not many get this opportunity. He said he feels lucky and grateful to be “one of maybe 100 people on the entire planet” with a NASCAR racing license.

With more ambition ahead and big goals ahead, Muñiz keeps his foot firmly on the accelerator, showing that passion has no age limit.
