West Coast Labs experts tested NordvPN’s reliability, speed and security through key metrics, in accordance with the guidelines of the malware test standards (AMTSO).
“Independent tests are one of the most honest measures of our work. This evaluation confirms that NordvPN offers strong security while maintaining high levels of speed and usability, a result is proud to support,” says Nordvpn Cto Marijus Briedis.
Nordvpn Audit Results: Performance and Safety
As mentioned above, West Coast Labs experts have executed a series of tests to confirm that NordvPN offers satisfactory levels of performance and security. These are:
- VPN functionality. During this test round, experts verified that some of the key characteristics of the supplier work correctly and consistently. These are self -conspressors at start, automatic connection, divided tunnel and murder switch. The latter is especially crucial for user safety.
- Speed performance. A series of speed tests were also carried out in seven regions (United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Oriental Asia and Australia). NordvPN delivered 15.2% faster downloads, faster and 7.9% lower latency charges.
- Accessibility to the website. The supplier obtained an accessibility of the 100% website in the 100 most visited sites, with minimal captcha’s occurrences.
- Impact of the VPN system. The tests show a minimum impact on system performance during navigation when connected to Nordvpn software.
- VPN time to connect and success. NordvPN obtained an average connection time of 1.67 seconds in the 10 tested locations.
- Safety and leak protection. NordvPN successfully approved the eight escape scenarios that experts tested, such as the IP address, DNS, Webrtc and IPV6 of leaks. The evaluation also included two advanced cases: a divided tunnel failure and the Tunnelvision attack.

When commenting on the findings, Briedis said: “This evaluation reflects the work we have done to make Nordvpn fast, reliable and safe. We design it to work in the background in the background: quickly connect, turn on the resources of the system, and ready to protect in a variety of scenarios, including those that test serious vulnerabilities such as Tunnelvision. It is good that those goals be confirmed.”
NORDVPN is known for regularly placing its VPN software in independent scrutiny.
Last March, the supplier published the results of its last security audit that occurred between June and August 2024. On that occasion, experts discovered 31 non -critical findings, and most of them have already been set at the time of publication.
In February 2025, NordvPN also confirmed its non-log claims with an independent audit for the fifth time since 2018.
