- The official teaser shows a new camera in Silhouette
- Voiceover describes the Rangefinder XE style line as an “essential” part of the X series history
- Wait a complete launch at the Fujifilm X Summit on June 12, 2025
A 15-second teaser video, released today before the Fujifilm X Summit event next week, seems to confirm that the Fujifilm X-E5 is imminently announced.
The short film shows a compact camera and lens in Silhouette, with most of its dark and dark details, while an off voice says: “There is another series of television style that is equally essential when it tells the story of our history of the X series.”
Given this image, it follows those of the cameras of the X100 and X-Pro series in the teaser, the remaining range of Rangefinder style to which it refers is, without a doubt, the range XE, and so it follows that the darkened image must be of the long-standing X-E5.
The XE cameras series has APS-C sensors and a compact telemeter style body, as well as the popular X100VI, but also admits interchangeable lenses.

What could the X-E5 reserved for us?
The X-E5 would be the first launch of the new XE range from the X-E4, which was launched in 2021. It had a CMOS 4 sensor of 26.1MP CMOS 4, without stabilization in the body (IBIS), without visor, without climate sealing and only a single SD card slot.
The X-E4 also eliminated physical controls such as dials and buttons to a minimum. That is not necessarily something bad in a camera, but some felt that Fujifilm became too minimalist for his own good here, to the point that he really hit the ease of use of the camera.
If I had to elaborate a list of personal improvements of desires that I want for the X-E5 (taking into account that you will always have to make commitments here and there to maintain its affordable price), I would love to see the inclusion of IBI and sealed by the weather, which would give a general image performance a general course while making the camera a little harder and more friendly for the trips. Add a viewfinder and could be the perfect camera of affordable street photography.
The previous rumors about the X-E5 suggest that at least one of my wishes is becoming a reality. Fuji Rumors has reported that the camera will have IBI and an X-Trans V sensor of 40MP, which puts it more in line with the Fujifilm’s fixed lens superstar, the X100VI.
Of course, the X-E5 will also be an interchangeable lens chamber, so it will offer greater versatility than the X100VI. In fact, it seems that it will be launched together with a new core x-mount lens, the XF23 mm f/2.8. It is rumored that it is a low profile, portable and discreet pancake lens, and mounted on a body like the X-E5, the two should make a very compact pairing.
There is not much to wait now to find out exactly what Fujifilm has under the sleeves for the XE series. That June 12 summit cannot roll quickly enough. Let us know what kind of camera you would like to see next week in the comments below.
