Around 150 tribal elders, six members of the Provincial Assembly, three members of the National Assembly and a senator participated. Also attended by officials, including the main secretary, the IG Police, the relevant commissioners, the attached commissioners and the CM information advisor.
The Jirga unanimously condemned terrorism and expressed a attached position against all forms of militancy. However, it strongly rejected military operations that lead to the displacement of local populations, emphasizing that “peace cannot be achieved through such measures.”

The tribal elders also presented several key recommendations. They subtracted that “restoring peace is essential for development, and once stability returns, the rhythm of progress will accelerate.” They made it clear that no one has demanded or received control over the mineral resources of the province or any other asset, reaffirming the commitment to safeguard local resources.
Jirga also advised the Federal Government to organize a delegation that understands the provincial government and tribal elders to participate in ongoing negotiations with Afghanistan. They emphasized that “all the necessary support and resources must be provided to this delegation to guarantee an effective dialogue.”
The plans for the next regional jirgas that will be held in the districts of Mohmand and Bajaur, followed by a third jirga that cover North and South, and a final session in the Kurram district, were also described. These consultations will culminate in a Grand Jirga chaired by the main minister.
Before Grand Jirga meets, influential figures of tribal areas will be designated to represent their communities and present processable proposals focused on restoring peace and stability in the region.

The last developments follow the APC last week convened by the KP government, where a strong consensus was reached against any military operation within the province.
Prime Minister Ali Amin Khan, who addresses the meeting, emphasized that the responsibility of ensuring the country’s borders falls to federal authorities and security agencies, while the provincial police are totally able to address the challenges of terrorism and the application of the law within KP.
The participants categorically rejected the long -standing distinction between “good” and “bad” taliban and expressed their firm opposition to the use of drone strikes in the provincial territory.
