- Garmin Vivoactive 6 has been officially revealed
- It looks very similar to the Vivoactive 5, but some specifications updates offer improvements
- It comes after strong criticism from Garmin users on the new Cabenct+ Premium level
Garmin has revealed the Garmin Vivoactive 6, an affordable smart watch with a new Smart-Wake alarm functionality and access to Garmin more premium watches, such as executing dynamics. It has a price of £ 279.99 (around $ 360 / au $ 580; the exact prices of USA and Au are TBC).
Garmin’s living line is full of sports watches oriented to value on the multitude of Apple Watch, and Garmin Vivoactive 5 feels beautiful as our current selection of ‘best value’ on our list of the best Garmin watches.
The Vivoactive 6 clock is very similar to the Garmin Vivoactive 5, with a plastic housing, aluminum bezel, two buttons instead of the usual five buttons configuration found in Garmins more Premium, an AMOLED screen and a silicone strap.
Like the Vivoactive 5, the Vivoactive 6 has up to 11 days of the battery. Share the dimensions and 1.2 -inch screen with the Vivoactive 5, although Garmin has made some changes.
Among the most prominent aspects of the update is a characteristic of ‘intelligent alarm’ that can awaken it at the optimal time during a sleep phase, a new feature for Garmin, and one that we have wanted in Garmins for years, along with tanks suggested daily daily in the line of their races.
As mentioned above, the Vivoactive 6 also has access to Garmin’s advanced dynamic metrics, which the Vivoactive 5 did not have.
According to a press release from Garmin, users “can also download a robust selection of step -by -step training, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, Mobility and more through Garmin Connect.
“They can also access Garmin Coach and strength training plans, several of which adapt daily depending on performance, recovery and health metrics to help users prepare for their next race, train for a milestone or improve general aptitude.”
A wheelchair mode is also included that tracks, and that was one of the best modes introduced in the Vivoactive 5.
The vivoactive 6 is available in four agile -looking color combos: black/blackboard, gold/lunar gold, jasper green and pink sunrise.
Analysis: Garmin is moving the news cycle in
The Garmin Vivoactive 6 looks like a great clock, especially since it is cheaper than many of its contemporaries of Apple and Samsung. After all, we loved the vivoactive 5, and there is no indications that this is anything other than an improvement, although iterative.
However, I cannot avoid feeling that the timeline for this launch may have been pushed up. In recent days, the news cycle has been dominated by the reaction against Garmin to launch Garmin Connect+, a new premium level paid with AI functions that are available separately for the free application of Garmin Connect.
Users have resorted to social networks to complain about paying a very expensive clock just so that it then has new features blocked behind an additional subscription. Justifiably or not, they fear that new features will be introduced to connect+ at the expense of the free version of the application, until the subscription becomes effectively to make the most of its clock.
A new budget device well received from Garmin would help move the news cycle, although it is unlikely that the user’s wrath is easily lodged in the short term.
