- A new Garul update addresses ghost touch problems

If you have a Garmin Forerunner 570 or Forerunner 970, keep your eyes open for version 6.18 of the software: the patch is now unfolding and addresses problems with the ghost touches in the recently launched wearables (where a press is recorded on the screen even if it has not been touched).
The update was detected by Notebookckck, and you can see the official listings of the update here and here. Changing record says that the update “reduces the occurrence” of ghost touches instead of eradicating them, so it seems that the problem may not be completely solved.
Your clock must obtain the update automatically, but you can also execute a manual verification, provided that your device is online: in the main menu, choose System> software update> verify updates To see if it is available.
It is not clear how many of Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 watches have been affected by this. We do not report any problem in our review by Garmin Forerunner 570, describing it as “a wonder of a clock in operation.”
Is the life of an error
However, although Ghost Touch’s problem may be closer to solve, it seems that software update 6.18 has introduced several new errors that Foreunner 570 and Forerunner 970 are now trying to get the attention of Garmin.
It seems that some users are having problems with their frozen clock just after the PIN code is entered to unlock it. Another user says that the displacement does not work correctly when he tries to reach the look screen.
There is also a Garmin support thread about altimeter problems with the 970 Foreunner: the thread only started a couple of days ago, but it is not clear immediately if these problems are related to the update 6.18 that has just implemented.
The best course of action if you have one of these smart watches is to keep them up to the latest version of the software, and if you experience errors, see Garmin’s support forums, where you must also say that there are many users who do not have problems with their devices or the new update.
