Geekom, a better known company for its Mini PC range, has entered a more competitive space with its first thin and light notebooks.
The geekbook X14 Pro has only 16.9 mm thick, weighs only 999 GY uses a durable aluminum alloy chassis with a 135 ° hinge.
Its outstanding feature is a 14-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 and 100%DCI-P3 coverage, which is approximately equivalent to a 5 megapixel pixel count.
Not bad for a first attempt
Under the hood, the X14 Pro presents Core Ultra 200H processors “Arrow Lake-H” of Intel Ultra 200H combined with integrated arc graphics.
These chips combine the Lion Cove and Skymont CPU nuclei, but omit the Lake XE2 lunar graphics.
This raises doubts about whether Geekom has chosen the best CPU configuration for sustained performance.
However, since this is the company’s first attempt, it is probably trying the waters with a modest CPU.
The power of this pica device in 35W, which is typical for light systems, but could limit demanding tasks.
The memory was welded LPDDR5 that runs at 7500MHz, with a capacity of up to 32 GB, which means there is no opportunity to update.
However, there is only one SSD M.2 2280 NVME slot that provides storage, which can be restrictive for users who expect multiple units.
The laptop works with a 70Wh battery, which is a relatively high capacity for a device that weighs less than one kilogram.
In theory, this battery can support long hours of typical productivity tasks before needing a recharge.
The battery is combined with a 65W USB-C gan charger, chosen for its efficiency and small form factor.
For connectivity, this device comes with HDMI 2.0, a USB-C USB-C of 40 Gbps, a 5GBPS USB-A and a headphones.
The wireless support includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, while the DTS speakers: x ultra suggest attention to audio quality.
This device also includes a 78 -kept backlit keyboard, and a digital fingerprint reader full feeding key input options.
At the time of writing this article, Geekom has not announced prices or release dates, which makes it difficult to judge the competitiveness of the X14 Pro against the established brands.
In the same event, Geekom also revealed the Geekbook X16 Pro. This largest option uses an IPS 2560 x 1600 inch panel, wears a 75WH battery, offers dual SSD slots and weighs 1299 g.
Together, these two devices show Geekom are pointing beyond mini PC products, but their final value depends on competitive prices and reviews.
