- Do you have Gemini for questions at home? Google has some answers
- The updates of AI, the oldest subscriptions and the devices are covered
- The deployment of new devices and new features is relatively slow
Google has renewed its intelligent starting ecosystem with new devices, new subscriptions and updated, and has left many confused users about what it is changing and why, and now Google is trying to address some of the most common questions in a new publication of the Google Home forum.
First is Gemini for the Home, replacing Google assistant in the new hardware and the previous devices as well. At the basic level, it is a free update without a continuous subscription, and you can use Gemini to search for devices, ask quick consultations (such as “Are the lights of the room on?”) And emit basic voice commands (such as “turn off the bedroom lights”).
There are also two Pags subscription options, Google Home Premium Standard and Advanced, which replace Nest Akon and that we have covered in depth. These give access to the most conversational Gemini Live, the ability to create automation with AI, search for video clips and up to 60 days of video history from the security cameras of their home.
Paying Extra also gives you a brief brief for the home with AI that summarizes intelligent household events and notifications that use AI to summarize the movement detection events. If you already subscribe to Nest Adked, they will take you to the new plans, and also grouped into Google Ai Pro and Google Ai Ultra subscriptions.
Google has only specified the prices of the USA. If you have questions about how to change and other packages, Google provides links to several relevant help items.
Available now … a kind of
Google is playing safe in terms of launching all this. Gemini for Home is now available through an “early access program” in the USA., Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, and only for cameras and bells, and must be recorded through the Google Home application (choose early access from the configuration page).
Gemini’s voice assistant will be available, through early access, in smart speakers at the end of October, but only in the United States. Apparently, users in other countries can register “in the near future”: Google lists Japan, Mexico and several European countries such as the next ones in line.
Most Google’s smart speakers and smart screens since 2015 will be eligible for these updates, although at the moment it seems that the support for third -party devices is limited. Google says he is “working with other companies, and the new Walmart Onn devices are compatible (see here to get more information about compatibility).
The help article also answers some questions about the redesigned application of Google Home, which Google promises will be faster and more stable in all areas. We have already seen several improvements in recent weeks, and apparently there is much more on the way.
It is a lot to take, and although the new publication of the forum does a good job in responding to the main consultations, we suspect that many users will still have questions about how all this works. At least the Google Home ecosystem is moving away from the error disaster that was at the beginning of the year.
