Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s government has begun the process of compensating flood victims under a special package, said Prime Minister’s advisor on information Muhammad Ali Saif.
The compensation package has doubled, he said, adding that under the package, the compensation for those who lost their lives in floods has increased from RS1 million to RS2 million.
SAIF also declared that RS850 million have been released to all districts for compensation payments.
He stressed that the provincial government is firmly with the victims of the flood at this difficult time. He said that since more rain has been predicted, the public must remain away from the currents and rivers and take caution measures.
SAIF also advised citizens to report any unpleasant incident by calling 1700 emergency aid line.
Amir Muqam
The Federal Minister, Engir Muqam, delivered on Tuesday huge shipments of help assets to the relevant authorities for distribution among Swat flood victims.
Muqam met with flood victims and assured the support and total assistance of the federal government.
He said that the rehabilitation of floods affected the population in KP was a great challenge, expressing the hope that federal and provincial governments with the support of the nation will quickly manage it quickly.
Engir Muqam said that the policy in the flood situation should be avoided and that, regardless of political affiliations, we must work hard to help address the suffering of those affected. He said that the Malankand division was largely affected by natural calamity.
Engir Muqam praised the spirit of communities, NGOs and philanthropists for their generosity and assistance in this hour of needs. He said that floods have damaged agriculture, peach and apples orchards and communication infrastructure in Shangla, Buner, Swat and relief to affected farmers.
Amir Muqam said that merchants and merchants were also suffered after the goods were dragged. He said that the main priority of the Government was to rescue the people stranded, transfer the injured to the hospitals and provide relief and assistance to the rehabilitation of the last victim.
Engir Muqam said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was personally monitoring rescue operations and help in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and enormous consignments of help goods were being sent to the areas affected by floods.
