The Toronto Blue Jays gardener, George Springer, was heated Tuesday night after a ball aligned by the left field line was governed by the referees.

After playing in the next release, Springer seemed to accuse the referee of manipulating the game in favor of the New York Yankees.

The tiles faced Boston’s red socks, but the Yankees took into account the classification of Al East. New York sat two games behind Toronto for the leadership of the division that entered on Tuesday. The defeat of the Blue Jays against Boston, along with the victory of the Yankees over the Chicago White Sox, reduced Toronto’s advantage to a game that goes to Wednesday.

With the bases loaded and two outs, Springer had the opportunity not only to tie the game, the red socks led by one, but to put Toronto on the front in a fundamental confrontation. He turned on a change by Lucas Giolito and broke it on the line, beyond the third base Alex Bregman. It seemed that Springer could have cleaned the bases.

But the third base referee quickly ruled the lack of ball. Springer raised his hands in the air, shouting when he reached the first base before being forced to return to continue the bat. He hit the next release.

The cameras later caught Springer still furious in the tile refuge. Jimmy O’Brien, known as Jomboy in the baseball community, published a breakdown of the moment and read Springer’s lips while ventilating teammates.

“If you want New York to win, just tell me and give it to him,” Springer said apparently.

The comment stressed how much the tiles recognize the bets of these games of the late season. Even so, it was a strong accusation to suggest that a referee was handling a game to benefit another team.

After an additional review of Springer’s swing, the ball seemed to bounce in a territory just before passing through the third base, which as a rule makes it a fair ball.

The referee saw him differently, and the call was expensive. The Red Sox won, 4-1. The next night, Boston beat Toronto again, 7-1, while the Yankees defeated the white socks, 8-1.

That left the tiles and the Yankees tied in the leadership of Al East with only four remaining games in each of their schedules.
