Islamabad police discovered the body of a German diplomat in his apartment inside the Diplomatic Enclave, officials said. Geographic news on Mondays.
The deceased has been identified as Thomas Fielder, second secretary of the German embassy in Islamabad.
According to police officials, Fielder’s body was recovered after German embassy staff, concerned about his absence from work for two days, broke into his apartment and found him unconscious.
The embassy immediately alerted local authorities, who transported the body to the hospital for an autopsy.
The cause of death remains undetermined and will be determined following the autopsy report, police said. Initial investigations revealed that the diplomat had previously suffered a minor heart attack, which could be a contributing factor.
The German embassy has been informed of the incident and further investigations are being carried out to establish the circumstances surrounding the diplomat’s death, they said.
