The New York Giants lost some momentum early in their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after being robbed of a turnover thanks to an early whistle on a push by Jalen Hurts.
Two plays later, the Eagles took a 14-7 lead on a touchdown pass from Hurts to Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia won the game 38-20 and maintained its dominance against the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field.

It was pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux who grabbed the ball from Hurts when the whistle blew to signal the end of the play. Referee Brad Rogers said Hurts’ advance was stopped before Thibodeaux made the play. However, Hurts was still driving through the field and had not yet touched the ground with any part of his body.
“(The referee) said they had announced the forward’s progress before he reached the ball,” Thibodeaux told reporters via ESPN. “Sounds like nonsense— to me.”

After teammate Brian Burns reminded Thibodeaux that he could be fined for his harsh comments about referees, he changed his mind and acknowledged that referees had a tough job.
“Sorry, I mean, it was a great decision by the referees. You can’t blame anything for the missed calls. I don’t think we stopped the run. They made 50-50 balls and got the best out of us,” he added.
Thibodeaux had five tackles, a deflection and a QB hit.
The topic of tush has been a hotly debated topic throughout the year.

In the last meeting between the two teams, the Eagles executed the tush push four times in a row on one of their touchdown drives. New York ended up winning that game earlier this month.
NFL owners have been under pressure to ban the play. He survived a vote that would have banned the call during the offseason. It is expected to be reviewed next year.
