ISLAMABAD:
A state-of-the-art computer lab was inaugurated at Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-8/1 on Tuesday.
Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational Training, inaugurated the newly renovated computer lab.
The newly expanded and renovated computer lab is funded by the Pak Arab Refinery company with a donation of Rs 7 million. It now has 30 additional computer systems, increasing its capacity to accommodate more than 60 students. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including an interactive LED donated by Pakistan Petroleum with a funding of Rs 2 million.
Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz, speaking on the occasion, said that the girls’ college had a newly created Maternal and Child Care Unit that provides first aid and medical facilities and caters to the needs of students and mothers of the community.
“The newly renovated facilities demonstrate a significant improvement in infrastructure to support academic and extracurricular activities,” he added.
Federal Secretary Moin Wani said renovations to toilets in junior and senior sections were completed at Rs 1.15 million and the staff room was expanded to provide a quiet and cozy workspace for teachers.
“The projects are an excellent example of public-private partnership and, with the sponsorship and contributions of different companies, the universities have significantly improved the educational infrastructure and the overall learning environment,” he added.
The university’s improved library offers enhanced resources to promote academic growth, while the Brain Games Room promotes critical thinking and logic through activities such as chess, Scrabble and crossword puzzles that become a favorite space for both students and for teachers.
