The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, ordered more steps to rationalize visa procedures, increase transparency and accelerate processing, especially for Pakistanis, investors and business travelers abroad.
By chairing a meeting to review the visa facilitation initiatives introduced in 2024 under his guide, the senator emphasized the need for an institutional reform sustained in consular services to better serve Pakistani abroad and promote economic participation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting evaluated the progress in the procedural reforms implemented in several missions. The authorities informed the Deputy Prime Minister about efforts to simplify application processes, reduce delays and introduce digital tools to improve services delivery.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need to cut the bureaucracy and improve access to the Pakistani diaspora and the economic stakeholders abroad.
Dar pointed out that the issuance of timely visas is vital not only to strengthen ties with the diaspora but also to attract investments and promote international commercial participation. He directed the Ministry to identify new areas to improve and ensure that missions abroad adhere to best practices in visa processing.
