The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, said that Pakistan has emerged from diplomatic isolation and is witnessing economic recovery, highlighting a strong fall in inflation and growing international commitment.

In statements to the Pakistani community at the General Consulate in New York on Saturday, he said: “We have made considerable progress, especially in political and economic fields, in the last three years, despite the strong probabilities, in fact we are a resistant nation.”

Dar, who returned earlier in the day from Washington, said that his meeting with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, was held in a cordial atmosphere and covered key global and regional issues. “The meeting was very good,” he said, expressing hope of stronger bilateral ties.

Present at the event were the Pakistan ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, permanent representative of the UN ambassador to Iphtikhar Ahmad and the consul Aamir Ahmed Atozai.

Dar told the audience that Pakistan was no longer isolated and that he now enjoys the support of many nations, evidenced by the recent high -level meetings with officials from China, the United States and others. He pointed out the reduction of inflation from 40% to 2.4% from January 2025 as a proof of government effectiveness.

The DPM/FM said that investor confidence had returned after the successful conclusion of the IMF program, a recovery recognized by international credit agencies. He reaffirmed the ambition of the government to join the G20.

Give the leader of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif accredited for directing federal and Punjab governments, calling him a capable statesman. He also informed the community about the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), whose objective is to facilitate investment in key sectors.

He announced that the work was underway to resume PIA flights to New York, after the restoration of routes to Europe and the United Kingdom.

Appreciating the role of the Pakistani-American community, Dar recognized their contributions to Pakistan and the United States, praising their unity during the past tensions with India.

He reported the demolition of six Indian aircraft by the Pakistan Air Force and praised the leadership of the head of the Syed Army personnel also Munir.

Dar pointed out the presidency of Pakistan of the UN Security Council, insured with the support of 182 countries, and the unanimous adoption of a resolution sponsored by Pakistan on the peaceful dispute solution.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, peaceful regional ties and their reach to Afghanistan for commercial and rail connectivity, while waiting for Afghan soil not to be used for terrorism.

In the imprisonment of Aafia Siddiqui, he said that the efforts for his release were ongoing through diplomatic channels.

Ambassador Sheikh also went to the community, pointing out the improved global image of Pakistan after the role of the armed forces in national defense. He urged the diaspora to invest in Pakistan, saying that a strong economy is vital for national security.
