The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, described on Friday the details of his recent visits abroad and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen international associations.

When heading to the press, Dar mentioned that he held an important meeting with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio and discussed key global issues, including Pakistan-India conflict and the growing tension between Iran and Israel.

He called his diplomatic missions, which began in July of this year, a great achievement and emphasized the positive results of meetings with international partners.

He also addressed a misunderstanding derived from his participation in a session in the group of American experts, the Atlantic. Clarifying the controversy, DAR explained that during the segment of questions and answers, he was asked about the evidence of May 9. In response he mentioned, Pakistan has an independent judiciary and such matters rest with the courts, not with the government.

GAR highlighted a series of other diplomatic efforts aimed at improving the global position of Pakistan. He also detailed his trip to the United Kingdom, where he had conversations with the Vice Prime Minister Angela Rayner.

Among the key results, Dar announced the uprising of the United Kingdom prohibition of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), with flights scheduled to resume in September. He also revealed that the passport processing system in the high commission of Pakistan in London has been simplified in a single window operation.

Giving also touched regional connectivity initiatives, including its recent commitment in Kabul. He talked about the proposed rail line that links Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, recognizing concerns about financing, but ensuring that China has promised support.

Referring to attending the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on the joint viability study for the Naibabad – Kharlachi Railway Link under the Uzbek – Afghan – Pakistan (UAP) Railroad in Kabul, Dar mentioned that this project, along with a new Peshawar road to Kabul, will be integrated into CPEC 2.0, which is now Afghanist.

As for China, Dar described the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as a milestone, reiterating the “iron -coated friendship” between the two countries. Both sides formally launched CPEC 2.0committing to expand cooperation under the strategic association for all climate.

Dar announced plans to establish economic corridors in Karachi for Chinese companies and highlighted the continuous collaboration in Gwadar.
