Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia and Kuwait, have extended condolences and expressed solidarity with Pakistan following the catastrophic monsoon floods that have left at least 313 dead people and caused generalized devastation in parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia transmitted the “sincere condolences and sympathy” from the kingdom to the government and the people of Pakistan for the loss of lives caused by floods and torrential rains.
The Ministry reaffirmed Riad’s solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time and expressed his support for the afflicted families, wishing the injured a rapid recovery.

Separately, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also expressed the solidarity of his country with Pakistan after mortal floods.
In an official message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian extended “the sincere government sympathy and the Iranian people” and emphasized Tehran’s preparation to provide humanitarian aid and assistance assistance to help relieve the suffering of those affected.
Russia has also expressed a deep sadness and condolences for the loss of lives caused by recent floods in Pakistan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari, expressed sorrow for the tragic loss of lives in KP. He transmitted more sincere condolences to the deceased’s families and wished the injured a rapid recovery while extending their best wishes to the affected communities.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya called the Vice Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to transmit the condolences of the heir prince Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah for the tragic loss of lives and damage caused by recent floods.
Foreign Minister Kuwaiti said that Kuwait’s government and people were ready to extend all possible support for Pakistan during this challenging moment.

Senator Dar expressed his gratitude for Kuwait’s gesture and pointed out that both leaders hoped to meet during the next session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CFM) of the Islamic Organization (CFM) in Jeddah at the end of this month.
The current monozonic spell has led to widespread sudden floods, landslides and infrastructure damage in several KP districts, which caused emergency response measures by military authorities, border body and disaster management.
The KP’s help department has declared an emergency in the districts of Swat, Battagram, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, Lower Dir, Upper Dir and Kohistan, which will remain in force from August 15 to August 31, 2025.
