Google announces surprise health updates for your Garmin watch

  • Google Health Connect will soon support Garmin
  • My fitness and runna will also receive support from June
  • Some other updates arrive at Google Health Connect for developers

Google I/or always begins with a key opening note, but the developer conference presents large software ads in its various talks and events, and one of them in Google I/or 2025 is that the Health Connect of Google will soon be compatible with Runna, my fitness and Garmin.

Google Health Connect, which was launched in 2022, is the equivalent of Android Apple Health. It allows you to easily share health metrics and physical conditioning data on devices and between applications, while privacy controls allow you to choose what data they are and are not shared.

As of June, my fitness (portable fitness application of Xiaomi), Runna (the excellent application of coach in execution that Strava acquired recently) and Garmin can share data with Health Connect, as revealed in its Android stage, and seen by Android Central.

That is not the only change that reaches Health Connect. As is the case with most I/O ads, these are focused on the application developer, but there are some features that we wanted to highlight.
