- Google Gemini can more easily access your phone and messages applications
- Previously, I had to allow the activity of Gemini applications, reducing their privacy
- That is no longer the case, and it comes when Gemini RCS also supports leaks
Google seems to give Google Gemini some serious updates by allowing greater access to its applications without forcing it to adjust its privacy settings and provide new skills within those applications.
It is possible that he has seen an email that Google sent to Android phone users indicating that Gemini will be able to interact with the phone, messages, WhatsApp applications and public services, even if you have the activity of Gemini applications off.
The immediate reaction was of concern, but this is actually a great privacy victory.
With the activity of Activated Gemini applications, Google can see a record of activities on how to use Gemini’s personal data: then you can use its products even more. If you want to maintain these more private data, you had to lose in Gemini for accessing extensions, which allows you to perform actions using other applications, such as sending text messages to someone if you ask for it.
This change means that you can keep your record of activities in private and not yet lose these basic intelligent assistant characteristics, which the Google assistant has had for years.
Although that does not mean that Google does not store any of its Gemini activity, even if this configuration is disabled. Google admits that it will store some activity data during the majority of 72 hours. It is stored for 24 hours within Gemini so that AI can respond to its conversations contextually. The longest limit is for safety and safety reasons, on which you can get more information on the Google support page.
RCS admits incoming?
Perhaps in preparation for Gemini that has easy access to messages, so presumably more people who use the application, Gemini also obtains an RCS update, apparently.
That is based on the Android Authority analysis of the latest Google App files, which suggests that RCS arrives in Gemini because AI can obtain the RCS capabilities of the device. This would only be necessary if the AI were compatible with RCS.
This is significant because currently, Gemini’s inability to use RCS means that he cannot send or reproduce audio, images or videos through the Google messages application. With access to this messaging standard, that could change quickly.
As with similar leaks, there is no guarantee that Gemini obtains RCS support in the short term (or at all), but it certainly makes a lot of sense as an update, so it is one for which we will monitor.
