Google has confirmed the commitment to spend $ 1 billion in the next three years to support the education and training of AI in the United States, attacking schools, universities and non -profit organizations.
Alphabet’s CEO, Slándar Pichai, explained in a blog post that more than 100 schools and universities have already registered in their AI accelerator program for Education, which hopes to make AI and professional training free for each university student in the United States.
Google’s training efforts are added to its already extensive participation within education: the company already directs schemes to put Chromebooks in the hands of students in multiple countries and regions.
Google wants to train US students in AI
In the publication, Pichai explained his own personal motivation for the project: “Having regular access to computers at the postgraduate school changed my life and took me on the way to Google. I hope that bringing the best tools from AI to university students will also open new worlds for them.”
The last announcement sees eligible students throughout the United States, as well as in Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Brazil, capable of registering for a free -year Google Pro plan with Gemini 2.5 Pro Access, deep research through Gemini 2.5 Pro, I see 3, higher limits for Jules, Notebooklm and 2TB of storage.
With a presence throughout the education sector and offering a small excavation in Microsoft that previously dominated the area, Pichai pointed out that more than four out of five of the 100 American universities now use the Google Works work space for education.
However, Google is not the only company that invests in increasing the current generation of students and our future workforce.
Microsoft president Brad Smith recently shared details of an investment of $ 4 billion in AI and cloud technology for K-12 schools, community schools and technicians and non-profit organizations. Other companies in this space, including goal, OpenAi, Anthrope and Amazon, have also committed their own support.
