Google is expanding Gemini’s utility through the use of the AI assistant to summarize the PDF content on Google Drive, but seems to be much more proactive than simply generating summaries.
With action suggestions clicking on clicking, users can perform actions such as writing a sample proposal or a list of interview questions based on a curriculum, which makes the tool much more powerful for employed workers.
The improvement follows Gemini’s previous deployment within PDFS for Google Drive, which makes it much easier to interact with Gemini and take the next step with the PDFs content.

“The PDF summary cards save you time by providing the essence of your files and help you start using faster gemini when you appear in the relevant clickable action options,” Google explained in the publication of the work space updates blog.
The best part is that Gemini is now available in more than 20 languages, so users will not limit themselves to English content.
Users must have activated intelligent functions and customization. When a PDF document is opened, a generative summary of AI will appear in an emerging window very similar to comments in other Google Drive applications. In the same window, a series of action recommendations will be provided to take more time.
At the same time, Google has announced a more elegant and fast user interface, while the PDFs used to open in a new tab to enable Gemini’s integration, the AI assistant will now work within the preview window without the need to open a new tab.
The gradual deployment has already begun, but it could take some users for up to two weeks to obtain the update.
Fortunately, the characteristic is not limited only to commercial users (personal accounts with complement AI are also eligible, specifically, Standard and Plus, Standard and in addition to Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium, and Google ai Pro and Ultra.
