Google Maps is one of the applications that Google’s greatest love receives in terms of regular updates, and we have seen another pair of updates that are implemented in the mapping application in recent days, updates to add an additional convenience to its trips.
First, the application is changing the way in which the route descriptions shows. As the Android police have pointed out, the information card you see when you select any place on the map on Android now shows you more details about parking availability and applicable toll rates.
This information was previously available on Google Maps, but I had to dig a little to find it, it is now included in the emerging window of the main description of the main route, together with the estimated travel time and the current traffic conditions.
It is a small adjustment but is potentially very useful. It gathers more of the data that Google Maps has in the same place, which means that it is more aware of its trips and can move more quickly. It does not seem that the update is live for everyone yet, but it should be eventually.

Our second new feature refers to the favorite technology of Google’s moment: AI. As seen by Android Authority, if you select a place on the map on Google Maps for Android, then active Gemini (with a long pressure on the ignition button, for example), you get a new Ask about the place Chip you can play.
Gemini To be able to tell you about places is not new, but the addition of a specific shortcut means that you can obtain information generated by AI about a much faster location from Google Maps. Just be careful with hallucinations, as always.
For example, you can ask when a certain place is opened or closed, or ask if it is suitable for children. The answers will be shown in a Gemini overlap at the top of the screen, as usual, and can ask monitoring questions if necessary.
We can expect much more on the path of Integration of Gemini in Google Maps and the other Google applications in the future too. Google has been occupied by pushing the bot of AI in as many applications as possible, while continuing to retire to the Google assistant.
