To make sense of the priorities in their work calls could soon be much simpler, thanks to an update assisted by Ai-which will reach Google Meet.
The videoconference service has announced that GEMINI will now use to create a “next steps” verification list after the end of each call, collecting the key actions that need attention in the future.
And to make sure that nothing important is lost, Google Meet is also doing the live subtitles generated during their calls available up to 30 minutes after they believe, instead of disappearing instantly when the conversation continues.
Next steps on Google Meet
The “Next steps” feature is an expansion to the existing tool “Take Notes for Me” launched for Google Meet in August 2024, which aimed to identify key points in the discussion and send a recapitulation email after a call , saving user time.
Now, the next steps and monitoring points will be “identified and organized automatically within the meeting notes”, with users capable of reviewing and editing as necessary, and assigning tasks to individuals.
“This last improvement in the taking of notes will help to ensure that important follow -ups are not lost and keep all aligned in what happens after their meeting,” a Google Workspace blog post updates the announcement of the indicated launch.
Users can also move back through live subtitles, including translated subtitles, for up to 30 minutes. Google says that this will be particularly useful if a part of the conversation has been lost or if you want from Google.
Both features are being implemented in fast launch domains now, although the characteristic of the “next steps” will take more time to be available for most, since Google says it wants to “carefully monitor performance and quality.”
The next steps will be available for users in Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus Tiers, along with the Enterprise standard and more users. It will also be available with the Gemini Education Premium complement, as well as with any person who has previously bought the GEMINI company or AI meetings and messaging accessories.
