- Google Menses is improving its messages of removal of messages
- Soon you can delete a message for all
- Now we have screenshots that show how the function works
It is not a great feeling, sending a text message and then regretting, instantly, the next morning, or at any intermediate time, and Google messages seems to be ready to give users a safety network with the ability to remotely remove the messages for all in a conversation.
This was first seen last month, but now the people of Android Authority have really managed to work. This is based on some code cavations made in the latest version of Google messages for Android.
While the characteristic is not yet live for everyone, the Android Authority team modified the application to exhibit part of the functionality. Eliminate a text raises a dialogue that asks if you only want to erase your local copy or delete it for all recipients.
If an image is cleaned, that raises a “eliminated message” position marker in the conversation for all who participate. It seems that there is a 15 -minute window to delete, so it must be relatively fast.
Bring back
This is how Google Messages will allow you to remotely remove the RCS messages for all the details and more screenshots – #Android pic.twitter.com/ckhvqe1TMRMarch 19, 2025
The update is courtesy of RCS Universal Profile V2.7, which Google messages is in the process of adding support. It is possible that the remote elimination function is not available for older software devices installed, so keep it in your text chats.
Until now, deleting a text only removed the message on your own phone. Once it had been delivered and discharged on the devices of the recipient, there was nothing that could do to bring it back.
That will change when this update is finally extended in its entirety, although it is not clear exactly when it will be. Given that Android Authority has been able to access some of the screens that show that the function works, it should not spend too much time now.
The support for this function varies in other applications: WhatsApp allows you to eliminate the messages sent for all recipients, while Imessage allows you to eliminate the messages sent, but only your local copy (although you may not take into account the messages within a two -minute window).
