- Google Messages is finally implementing its long -awaited repetition function for Chats, Android has seen
- The function will allow you to sleep the chats for an hour, eight hours or 24 hours, and there is also an “always” option
- You can also configure it to receive alerts when someone mentions it in a chat, although its mentions function has not yet been implemented.
It seems that Google’s long repetition function is finally being implemented, updating with other Telegram and WhatsApp messaging platforms. The function has been seen in the last beta messages of Google for SMS and RCS messages, two months after the company began working on it.
According to the Android Police, one of the first points of sale to detect the function, the new function ‘Snoze chat’ appears when it opens a contact page in the application of Google messages, which allows you to silence the chats for an hour, eight hours, 24 hours or ‘always’. The Android Police also added that it will be implemented with selected users, so not everyone can access it immediately.
In addition to the four repetition options, the Android police also saw a configuration that allows you to receive notifications if you mention it (@) even if a talk has been made. Recently, Google has been playing with the idea of presenting a mention function for chats, and although this is not yet available, Android Authority believes that it could be implemented simultaneously with the repetition function.
There are two ways to enable the ‘Snoze chat’ function. The first is to go to the contact page and enable the function there as mentioned above. Alternatively, you can press for a long time on a chat on your Google input tray messages and a repetition icon will appear on the toolbar as the Android police have tried.
Since its launch in 2014, Google messages has never had a function that allows you to sleep the chats so far. Instead, the only way to silence messages and group chats was to silence notifications manually, but that meant that it would need to enable them manually again and monitor their conversations.
Google’s repetition function is just one of its new features. In recent months, the messaging service has been testing a handful of new updates, many of which are very late, including an option of “eliminating for all”. The company has also been paying much attention to the update of its group chat ecosystem, testing new group chat links and custom -grupal chat icons so that they coincide with similar characteristics found in WhatsApp.
