In recent months, Google has doubled in the eradication of all the traces of Google Assistant to make Gemini its flagship assistant, but in the middle of the organized Gemini chaos, Google has been paying close attention to improving its application of messages, giving it a very necessary FTA.
It is sure to say that the new reviews of the Google messages have significantly improved their user interface. Its new repetition function for group chats also comes to mind, but Google is still in its age era. For a while, Google was experiencing with an easy way to join the group chats, following the steps of WhatsApp. Now, it is testing five more functions that could compose the next wave of updates of Google messages this month.
Although these characteristics are in Beta, there has been no comment on whether they will be officially implemented with users. That said, we will be attentive to any additional update.
Google expands its 4 -line text field limit
Only a few weeks ago, we reported a new update that is in Google Beta messages that indicates that Google would improve to handle long text messages.
For a while, Google messages have been restricted to a four -line view limit by sending text messages, which means that it would need to move to check their entire message before sending. This is particularly frustrating when sending long URL links.
But that could soon be the past thing, since 9to5google has collected a new beta code that reveals a set of composition of messages expanded in the 9a Pixel that now reaches 14 lines.
New RCS labels
Recently, Google has been testing new labels in the application that could distinguish whether you are sending an SMS or RCS message.
Thanks to an APK disassembly by Android Authority, the labels found in Beta suggest that you can soon see which of your contacts are using RCS in messages, adding a new RCS label to the right side of the name or number of a contact.
Cancel the subscription of automated texts
This is a characteristic that we are very excited to see, and we expect a wider launch this month. A few weeks ago, a lack of subscription button was detected at the bottom of some messages, which could give users an easier way to unsubscribe to automated texts and even the option of informing spam.
When this touches, a list of options will appear that ask for your reasons to unsubscribe, which include ‘unregistered’, ‘too many messages’ and ‘no longer interested’, as well as an option for ‘spam’. If you select one of the first three, a message will be sent automatically that reads’ and will be canceled successfully.
Read receipts get a new look
Google could present another renewal of how you can see reading receipts in the messages. In November 2024, Google tested a redesign of their reading receipts that placed the verification brand symbols within the message bubbles, which used to appear under the sent messages.
In January, Google tested another small redesign that introduces a new white background, which could be implemented soon, and although this is not an important redesign, it is effective enough for reading receipts to stand out more.
First we noticed that Google Messages was preparing a new photo and video quality update. In March, more users began to notice a broader availability, but it has not yet been completely implemented, which means that it could be one of the next new updates in the coming weeks.
Essentially, Google could be implementing a new option that allows you to send media, such as photos and videos, in its original quality. This will give you the option of the following two options:
‘Optimize for chat’ – Send photos and videos at a faster speed, compromising quality.
‘Original quality’ – Send photos and videos as they appear in the built -in storage of your phone.
