- Google Photos is adding a function that converts fixed images into videos generated by six seconds
- The platform also adds a tool called Remix that will redo images in different styles
- All generated content includes visible and invisible water marks
Google Photos is launching new generative features of AI that can transform fixed images into short video clips, giving life to anyone in the photo and including natural aspect movement. The photo tool to video uses the video model I see 2 AI of Google, the same model implemented on YouTube, Gemini and other parts of the Google ecosystem. The function does not convert its snapshots into complete films trailers; Simply create six second clips.
Once you see the option to turn your images into videos, simply choose the image of the image you want to cheer up, then choose “subtle movements” or “I feel lucky” of the buttons below. As you can imagine, the choice of subtle movement makes people in the image move a little. The model is designed to guess what could have happened in that second frozen. The other option could do anything, maybe even throw confetti in the air.
The update is being implemented in the US on Android and iOS at this time, but there are other AI tools later this summer to Google Photos. The most notable is the remix function in the coming weeks. Remix takes their existing photos and repairs them in looking like comics panels, anime images, 3D representations or pencil sketches. It is a skill that Gemini and its many rivals already offer, but now it will be built directly in your photo gallery and will not need to write a complete notice for it.
All this joins in a new section of the application called Taca Create, which will serve as a center for these tools and any other characteristic of AI that Google can launch in the coming months. In the short term, it will include the photo of the video and remix functions together with the existing collage and highlight video creators. But as I see becomes smarter and Google’s confidence grows, the possibilities could expand in any amount of IA improvements, such as extended video clips, voices off or stories of multiple images.
The packaging is the crucial here. This is the first time that the video generation to video has been embedded in a conventional application such as Google Photos, which the company states that it has more than one billion users.
Video tools with Ia as Sora and see have generated headlines for their amazing realism and potential for Defake. But Google Photos is not launching this update as a creative revolution. It presents it as an improvement of memory. That said, Google does not want to accidentally deceive anyone about where the new images and videos come. That is why each video or remix generated by AI will carry a visible label that shows that the content was created with AI. They will also include an invisible Synthid water brand that identifies AI behind its production, as well as that used by all Gemini images and videos.
AI photographic inspiration
Google is unlikely to simply release these new features and continue. After all, the company has already implemented I see 3, the last iteration of the text model to video, a Gemini and YouTube for short -quality short quality videos with synchronized dialogue and background audio. The tools that encourage today’s images can narrate them tomorrow.
This is more a work for those who do not constantly prove the last toy AI, but those who like to share photos and watch photos taken by others. It is easy to make fun of the idea of making your selfie move, but that is the type of characteristic that attracts many users who want to see how the animated AI can do them.
