The Google Pixel 9A became official earlier this week, but we are already in the rumors for pixel 10 that is due at the end of this year, and the phone has just appeared in the Android code base, with a touch of a useful speed update.
As seen by Android Authority, Pixel 10 has been appointed in the Android Open current Project Code (AOSP). That is the code on which all the various flavors of Android are based, including the Samsung UI One.
In addition, changes in the starting process in Pixel 10 apparently lead the headset to start more quickly, according to a Google engineer, although, of course, the device will only be in the early stages of the tests at this time.
It seems that it is due to something called a load of the parallel module, which basically loads different fragments of Android one next to the other, instead of one at a time, as they have guessed by the name. Pixel 10 shows a speed improvement of 30% in this particular part of the starting process, according to the code comments.
Camera updates are rumored
This will not be exclusive to Pixel 10: the load improvements of the parallel module should also be implemented in other recent Android phones. It can well be included as part of Android 16, which is due at some time in mid -2025.
As for Pixel 10, that can appear in August, which would be a good year after the launch of the Google Pixel 9 series. However, to date, we have not heard too much on the path of leaks and rumors.
We have seen some leaks in terms of model numbers and internal code names, but they are not particularly exciting. Of more interest are the rumors that Pixel 10 could come with some camera updates, including an additional rear camera.
While Pixel 9A abandoned the iconic rear camera bar to which we have become accustomed to the Pixel series, it will probably return to the pixels 10 phones. We can expect several different models to reappear, including, perhaps, a successor of Google Pixel 9 Pro fold.
