- New AI features coming to Google Calendar
- ‘Help me schedule’ seeks to make meetings a more fluid experience
- The feature is only available for meetings with two participants.
If you spend a frustrating amount of time talking about meetings, discussing availability, and adjusting schedules to find the time that best fits your needs, you’re in luck.
Gmail with Gemini is introducing a new “Help me schedule” feature that, as you might have guessed, will help you book meetings and organize your calendar, making it much easier to find times that work for everyone.
It will be available as a button within the email toolbar. Once you click it, Gemini will automatically suggest available spaces based on your Google Calendar, along with the context of the email.
Customizable with context
You can customize Gemini suggestions by adding or removing additional options and then insert them directly into your Gmail message. Once the recipient receives the email, they can choose a time that works best for them and a calendar invite will automatically be placed on both calendars.
Often the difficulty with scheduling arises when you are trying to form a group, when everyone has different priorities and schedules, so it is important to keep in mind that when this feature is released, No It will be available for groups, only two people.
“This is not just a ‘show me when I’m free’ feature,” Google’s statement explains.
“Gemini actually considers the context of the email, so if someone requests a 30-minute meeting next week, it will suggest half-hour slots before the end of the week that fit their schedule. You can edit the suggestions, insert them directly into your email, and when the recipient chooses a time, the calendar invite automatically appears in both calendars.”
Within meetings, Gemini can generate responses based on meeting captions and other Google Workspace resources with ‘Ask Gemini in Meet’, which bolsters Google’s enterprise AI tools.
