Mountain View: Google said Tuesday that the search was improving in line with an even more generative artificial intelligence, since it continues to adopt AI despite concerns about the impact on its advertising -based business model.

The Pichai Skyding CEO, speaking at the company’s annual developer event, said that Google’s search engine would now present a new way of AI. He affirmed that “decades of research” were fruit with this technology.

The new AI mode of the search engine goes beyond the descriptions of the already launched, which show responses to user consultations using the generative google capabilities, appearing above the traditional blue links to websites and ads.

“The new AI mode is a total search of the search with a more advanced reasoning,” said Pichai, starting the conference in Silicon Valley.

“You can make longer and more complex consultations … and you can go further with tracking questions.”

Google’s search director Liz Reid described the new AI mode, now available in the United States, as a powerful tool with advanced reasoning, multimodality and users’ ability to immerse themselves more deeply in their searches.

“Search all the website, going much deeper than the traditional search,” he said.

Since the launch of the descriptions of AI at the Developer Conference last year, the function has expanded to more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, according to Pichai.

“That means that Google’s search is bringing more people than any other product in the world,” he added.

Google’s expansion to generative AI occurs in the midst of increasing competition with the Opensei chatgpt, which has also incorporated search capabilities in its popular chatbot.

Both companies are rapidly implementing new AI tools despite continuous challenges, such as stopping erroneous information and the search for sustainable commercial models. Nor is there a clear understanding of how this technology will shape society.

Analysts have warned that moving away from the family pages of the “blue links” to summaries generated by AI could significantly reduce the amount of ads delivered: the core of Google’s income flow.

This has alarmed online editors, including news and wikipedia organizations, which fear a strong decrease in web traffic. For decades, Google search links have served as an important entrance door to the Internet.

Adding fuel to the fire, the Apple Executive Eddy has recently testified in the Federal Court that Google’s search trafficking on Apple devices decreased in April, the first fall of this type in more than 20 years.

Cue, the Senior Vice President of Apple services, told the antimonopoolio trial of Washington that Google was losing ground to alternatives based on AI such as Chatgpt and Perplexity, which caused the prices of Google’s actions to fly.

Investors shook even more when Cue said that Apple can soon offer alternatives with Ia as predetermined search engines on their devices, which increases fears that Google’s advertising could be seriously threatened by the increase in AI competition.

This testimony occurred during a historical trial, where a federal judge can order Google to deflect key operations after a previous ruling declared that his search business is an illegal monopoly.

‘Ultra’

In Google I/O, the annual company developer conference, the technological giant fosters ties with creators of applications, platforms and online services, with the aim of keeping them aligned with their ecosystem.

Beyond the search, the event showed numerous advances in the pipe or already in use.

These include real -time speech translation, virtual clothing tests using the personal photos of users and AI technology that can automatically search for products and complete purchases when prices fall.

Google is also adding “agent” functions to Chrome and the Gemini AI application, which allows you to perform online tasks independently. These characteristics will be available first to pay subscribers.

The company revealed that its most advanced characteristics would be offered through a new “ultra” subscription plan, with a price of $ 250 per month.
