Islamabad:
The Federal Government has authorized direct flights since Quetta to facilitate pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq for Arbaeen, defense minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif announced Tuesday in the National Assembly.
During the session, chaired by President Ayaz Sadiq, the Chamber unanimously approved two resolutions that mark Yom-E-Instehsal, condemning atrocities in the Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied from the Indians.
Meanwhile, the members of the opposition continued their protest for the sentence of the senior leaders of the party in the cases of May 9. Some federal ministers responded by mocking the protest movement led by PTI, while the Law Minister reiterated the offer of the Dialogue Government.
In a policy statement, the Minister of Defense, ASIF, highlighted the security threats facing pilgrims along the 800 -kilometer terrorist route since Quetta, particularly the risk of terrorist attacks in Baluchistan.
“To mitigate these risks, the federal government has authorized direct flights since Quetta for the pilgrims of Arbaeen,” he said, added that a flight had already begun, with additional daily services planned to meet demand.
Asif said that all licensed private airlines had been invited to operate on the route, and permission was also granted for rented flights to maximize the capacity.
He pointed out that Iran had approved an additional flight for the Pakistani pilgrims after the discussions during the recent visit of Iranian President.
“The government undertakes to guarantee safe, comfortable and timely transport for all Arbaeen pilgrims,” added the minister.
Kashmir resolution
The Chamber unanimously adopted two resolutions, condemning the actions of India in Iiojk in Yom-E-Instehsal-E-Kashmir, which marks the sixth anniversary of the revocation of articles 370 and 35a of India.
The resolutions were moved by the Party of the Peoples of Pakistan (PPP) Shazia Marri and Amir Muqam of the Pakistan Muslim League. However, the procedures were fogged by the protests of the opposition, which accused the government of suffocating the dissent.
The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, criticized the protest of the PTI, stating: “Today is for Kashmir, but you are observing yourself of you, e-instehsal-e-image.” He accused PTI of exploiting the session for political profits, which caused an opposition fuss.
PTI protest
Aamir Dogar de PTI accused the government of “political victimization”, claiming that 10 members of the National Assembly were “collected”, but the speaker did not take any measure. Demanding justice, he said that the founder of PTI was in jail for refusing to move.
Sadiq’s speaker responded, saying that he had issued production orders. The speaker also reported the house of the Chamber of PTI Mna Sheikh Waqas Akram inexplicable absence for 40 days, saying that under article 64 his seat could be declared vacant.
Noseen Iftikhar de PML-N moved a motion to declare the Akram seat vacant, however, vice president Ghulam Mustafa Shah emphasized the need to see if the motion followed the rules.
