Islamabad:
The Federal Government has begun to shape a new National Resilience Plan 2025-26 to better prepare Pakistan for the next Monzón season, with the aim of reducing the destruction caused by floods and other natural disasters.
“The National Resilience Plan must be focused on the results, with clear strategies to reduce the losses resulting from such calamities, either in terms of human lives, infrastructure, crops or cattle,” said Dr. Malik.
The authorities say that the next plan seeks to avoid repetition identifying high -risk areas, integrating scattered response systems and guaranteeing faster and faster relief operations.
Dr. Malik also recognized the weaknesses in the current system, calling it fragmented. “It requires integration in a unique and simplified framework that is fast, coordinated and effective,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to work closely with NDMA and other interested parties.
