Pakistan’s civil-military leadership will carry out information about national security on Sunday for representatives of political parties amid high tensions with India after an attack in Iiojk.
According to the State Press Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the informative session will be led by Federal Minister of Federal Information Attaullah Tarar and the General Director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. It will focus on the current national security situation, especially in relation to growing friction with India.
The movement follows a April 22 attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists. India accused Pakistan of participation, a claim that Islamabad has strongly denied. Since then, both parties have exchanged strong statements, with India promising to point to those responsible and Pakistan warning of a firm response to any military action.
To a related extent, President Asif Ali Zardari has convened the emergency session of the National Assembly on Monday night, where legislators are expected to formally condemn the threat of India to suspend the Treaty of the Indo’s waters, an agreement to share decades of decades between the two countries.
Previously, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, strongly rejected Indian claims that link Pakistan with the attack of the pahalgama on April 22 in Jammu (Iiojk) occupied by India-Jequal
“Pakistan has nothing to do with Pahalgam’s attack, Punto,” he said at a press conference. He also demanded a joint investigation based on mutually agreed reference (tor) and questioned the moment of accusations.
“This situation is being created by India in the midst of Pakistan’s economic stability,” he added.
