ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly was told on Thursday that the government was strengthening the blood transfusion monitoring system in an effort to control hepatitis.
Responding to a call-out notice, Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination said private clinics were also being monitored to ensure safe use of syringes and other medical equipment.
Dental clinics, which can also pose an infection risk, were coming under stricter regulatory oversight.
He expressed hope that Pakistan can eliminate hepatitis B and C by 2030.
