Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the Government will integrate women associated with artisanal industries and small businesses in the small and medium -sized company sector (SME), The news reported on Sunday.
The announcement was held on International Women’s Day during a review meeting on current reforms under the development authority of the small and average company (Smeda).
Speaking at the meeting, the prime minister emphasized the need for economic empowerment of women and directed the authorities to provide capital and essential facilities in priority to business companies in the artisanal industry.
He also instructed the measures to offer low -cost loans to women under the scheme of youth loans, which allowed them to expand their businesses.
Emphasizing the importance of supporting educated and qualified women, especially in rural and remote areas, urged them to help them achieve financial independence through entrepreneurship.
The Prime Minister ordered the establishment of facilitation centers and training institutes to support women involved in small -scale companies and guarantee their easy access to these resources.
To strengthen this initiative, he announced the formation of a special committee responsible for developing a comprehensive plan to empower women through business opportunities. The Committee will soon submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, the prime minister was informed about Smeda’s initiatives for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises.
Separately, in his speech here in an event of the International Women’s Day, marked worldwide on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements and call on their rights, the prime minister said that the empowerment of women could only be achieved by providing them with the same access to education, the development of skills and employment opportunities.
“It is our mission and an unwavering commitment to guarantee the emancipation of the country’s female population,” he said.
Prominent women of various fields, including Cabinet members, legislators, businessmen and activists, joined the event in the home of the Prime Minister, which was organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and the National Women’s State Commission (NCSW) in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The Prime Minister, on the occasion, launched the first gender parity report of the capital prepared by NCSW and UNFPA, which identifies challenges and recommends solutions in key areas such as education, health, governance, political representation and justice.
The Prime Minister said that his government would collaborate with the provinces for collective action to promote the integration of women into programs that contribute to the national economy. He announced the establishment of a working women’s endowment in an attempt to support working women and help them compete with contemporary challenges.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Law, Justice and Human Rights, Azam Nazeer, Tarar, said that in line with the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz, the ministries and departments have been commissioned last year to guarantee inclusive policies for women.
The initiative, he said, successfully led to a greater proportion of the representation of women in the departmental boards. He pointed out that Pakistan held 145 of 146 countries in the global gender gap index, together with Afghanistan, which “did not reflect a real image and was contrary to earthly reality.”
He asked the relevant organizations to review the classification and expressed the preparation of the government to share the required data.
