- XAI’s Grok 3 chatbot has added a voice mode with multiple personalities
- A personality is called “deranged” and will shout and insult you
- Grok also has personalities for the NSFW role -play, crazy conspiracies and a “therapist without a license” mode
Ia’s voice assistants are usually educated, informative and calm when they respond. Apparently, the XAI Grok 3 has decided to set that strategy on fire, literally shouting it.
Grok 3 has multiple voice options, each with a different personality, including a “deranged” option that will shout, insult and shout you before closing the correct circumstances.
The Riley Goodside developer showed how wild it can be the deranged voice for Grok 3 in a recording where Grok’s responses repeatedly interrupts. The AI is frustrated and finally breaks, letting out a disturbingly long and dignified chillido of the horror movie. Then throw a final insult before cutting the call. A masterpiece of customer service, this is not. You can listen to it in the clip below.

Voice of the deranged
The “deranged” personality is only one of several that offers Grok’s new voice mode. There are also “stories narrator”, which exactly does how it sounds; “Conspiracy”, which is really found in Sasquatch and alien kidnappings; and “Therapist without a license”, a personality that apparently failed the exams, possibly due to lack of empathy.
Then there is the “Sexy” mode, which is labeled with 18+ and, unlike the voice configuration of competitors such as Chatgpt, does not shy away the role-playplaying nsfw stages. Then, Grok will shout or whisper you sweets in your ear, depending on your preference.
It is a vision of AI that may not attract everyone. That said, it is completely aligned with how CEO Elon Musk described Xai’s objectives by counteracting what he says that they are too disinfected and politically correct of companies such as OpenAi. While OpenAi’s chatgpt has a voice function, it is still scheduled to maintain neutral and controlled behavior. Grok, on the other hand, is unpredictable. Not only lets you talk about that; It can react aggressively or emotionally. However, it is not that you notice in official promotions.

Most of the main AI tools have strict guidelines on the content, particularly around the “adults” themes. Grok 3 has apparently been programmed with the opposite philosophy, except when the company decides that the model must be “corrected” in the CEO statements.
Of course, this approach is not exempt from controversy. The personalities of AI as “therapist without a license” could easily give people deceptive or useless advice, while a chatbot that openly encourages conspiracy theories seems to leave the rails quickly. And the “sexy” mode? Well, that is another ethical discussion that few would expect to have regarding the main tools. There is also the question of how much this is really useful versus only a pure show. Very strong show.
